10:07 AM — A transgender woman and a gay man have married in Cuba. Wendy Iriepa, 37, and Ignacio Estrada, 31, said their marriage is a significant step forward for LGBT rights in the country.

Tel Aviv LGBT youth centre faces closure 4
1:26 PM — An LGBT youth centre in Tel Aviv may have to close because of financial problems. The Bar Noar centre was the scene of a fatal shooting two years ago, in which a teenage girl and a counsellor died. The perpetrator has not been caught.

Riot damage won’t stop Manchester Pride, organisers say 53
3:30 PM — Manchester Pride will go ahead this weekend, organisers have said. The city centre is recovering from yesterday's widespread riots and looting and businesses in the gay village suffered some damage.

Liverpool Pride doubles its numbers 6
2:17 PM — An estimated 40,000 people joined Liverpool Pride on Saturday - double the number who turned up last year. The festival, now in its second year, was held at the city's waterfront, where it is thought around 35,000 people joined the celebrations.

Sao Paulo city council backs ‘heterosexual pride’ 53
2:47 PM — The city council of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has passed a measure calling for an annual Heterosexual Pride Day to be celebrated each December. City alderman Carlos Apolinario, who authored the legislation, said the idea is "not anti-gay but a protest against the privileges the gay community enjoys".
Liverpool council ‘should officially recognise gay quarter’ 19

2:37 PM — A transgender woman in Washington DC narrowly missed being shot last month, two weeks after another transgender woman was shot dead just a block away. Police said that the latest attack suggests a potential pattern of transphobic violence.

2:19 PM — X Factor stars Diva Fever have had to pull out of Liverpool Pride - because they were booked to play three Pride festivals on the same day. The band, comprising friends Craig Saggers and Josef Al-Smadi, were due to play Liverpool, Swindon and Cotswold Pride festivals on Saturday, leaving fans wondering whether they would be able to make each event.

4:56 PM — A university in Texas has installed a gender neutral toilet. Officials at the University of Texas in Austin believe the new facility will benefit disabled people and those who need space for medical injections as well as LGBT people.
