Rally in support of politician who thinks gays worse than terrorists 10 More than 1,000 people gathered in the Oklahoma capital on Wednesday to show their support for state representative Sally Kern.Kern came under fire last month after an audio recording was leaked of her comparing gays to terrorists and saying the "homosexual agenda is destroying this nation."The YouTube video posted last month by the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund featured Kern speaking out.

Pregnant trans man talks to Oprah 2 Thomas Beatie, a transgender man from Portland, Oregon who revealed he is pregnant in the latest issue of The Advocate, will make his first television appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show today.The 'pregnant man', as he has been labelled in the press, will speak about his decision to carry a child when his wife was unable to conceive. In the The Advocate, Thomas Beatie wrote a guest column about his extraordinary experience.

Fight against “ex-gay” movement goes multi-media + TruthWinsOut.org (TWO), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to debunking the "ex-gay myth", launched a newly revamped web site this week.The goal of the site is to serve as an educational resource and an "all-encompassing look at the dangerous world of conversion therapy".TWO claims the ex-gay industry has dominated the flow of information about conversion therapy in the past and the new web site is geared to help "counter ex-gay lies and reach vulnerable people with messages of truth and hope."

Obama and Clinton supporters attracted by McCain + A surprising number of supporters of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton would throw their votes to Republican John McCain if their candidate does not become the Democratic Presidential nominee, according to a new Gallup poll released yesterday.While only 19 percent of Obama supporters said they would vote for McCain over Clinton, 28 percent of Clinton supporters would switch their vote to the Republican nominee.

Pregnant trans man speaks out against medical discrimination 3 Thomas Beatie, a transgendered man from Portland, Oregon, has revealed he is pregnant in the latest issue of The Advocate.Beatie, who transitioned from female to male, said he has faced discrimination from doctors and healthcare providers over the pregnancy.During his transition, Beatie decided not to remove his reproductive organs and stopped taking testosterone injections so he could become pregnant.

Clinton pushes for Florida and Michigan votes to be counted 1 New York Senator Hillary Clinton is calling on the Democratic National Committee to either seat delegates from Florida and Michigan or hold new primaries in the states.Both states were stripped of delegates for moving their primaries up on this year's election calendar.DNC chairman Howard Dean is in favour of holding new primaries, but says the party will not pay for them. Barack Obama's campaign has concerns, however, about proposed mail-in caucuses.

Gay bishop rejects restricted invite to Lambeth 1 Bishop V. Gene Robinson has announced he will not officially participate in a planned summer conference of world Anglican leaders.He declined an invitation to events at the once-a-decade Lambeth conference this summer because of restrictions organisers placed on him if he were to appear.Robinson said the limited offer caused him "considerable pain" and he would reject the "non-offer" to be part of the conference.

Obama victorious in Mississippi 1 Illinois Senator Barack Obama increased his growing lead over rival New York Senator Hillary Clinton with a win in the Mississippi primary results yesterday.Obama was strongly favoured to win, largely due to the high percentage of black Democratic voters in the state.Clinton virtually conceded the state to Obama before voting even began and has shifted her focus to the upcoming battle for the Pennsylvania primary.

Obama dismisses talk of Vice Presidency + Illinois Senator Barack Obama yesterday firmly rejected the idea he would be willing to sign on as Vice President for Hillary Clinton.Obama's response comes after hints from Clinton that she would be willing to consider sharing a ticket with him in the November election."I don't know how somebody who is in second place is offering the Vice presidency to someone in first place," Obama said.

Pro-gay Governor of New York in prostitution scandal 1 New York Democratic Governor Eliot Spitzer has been tied to a prostitution ring after a federal investigation revealed he was recorded on a wiretap arranging to meet with a prostitute.Identified as Client 9 at the Emperors Club VIP escort service, Spitzer was recorded confirming plans to fly a prostitute from New York to Washington to meet him at a hotel.According to the New York Times, court documents stated Client 9 arranged to meet with an Emperors Club VIP prostitute on February 13th in Washington DC.
