5:02 PM — A lesbian couple in the US state of Nebraska have been barred from divorcing by a judge. Brenda Mueller and Deborah Pry were told that as Nebraska doesn't recognise gay marriage, it doesn't recognise gay divorce.
Transgender woman told ‘dress as a man to find work’ 54
1:50 PM — A transgender woman claims she was told by a Jobcentre to dress as a man to find work. Tina Cook, 54, who began transition last year, used to work in the construction industry but was made redundant 18 months ago.
Scotland sees huge increase in reported homophobic hate crime 12
11:39 AM — The number of reported homophobic hate crimes has risen five-fold in Scotland in the last five years. Figures show that there were 666 reported incidents in 2009-10, a substantial increase from 2004-5, when just 114 incidents were reported.
Seven-year-old donates to LA gay centre because he thinks inequality is unfair 40
12:55 AM — A seven-year-old has donated $140 to the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) because he doesn't think it's right for gay people not to be treated equally. The child, called Malcolm, was given $140 by his parents to donate to the charity of his choice. He chose to split the money between the gay centre and the HRC.

5:24 PM — Transformers star Shia LaBeouf was arrested this weekend after allegedly being involved in a bar fight in California. According to reports, the fight broke out after fans called the actor a "faggot" for refusing to speak to them.

4:36 PM — A Christian podiatrist has appeared before a professional trial over claims that he tried to get a colleague to swap patients with him because he thought the man was gay.

3:07 PM — India's Supreme Court will today hear arguments for and against a 2009 court ruling which decriminalised gay sex. In 2009, the Delhi high court ruled that a Colonial-era ban on gay sex was unconstitutional.

4:54 PM — Elton John says he wants unlikely friend Rush Limbaugh to say he supports civil partnerships for gay couples. The singer sang at the controversial radio host's wedding last year and was reportedly paid $1 million for the gig.
Study suggests immune system treatment for HIV 3
3:58 PM — A study on mice with an HIV-like infection found that boosting their immune systems cured them of the disease. Scientists at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Australia said their findings could help develop drugs to help people rid their bodies of infections such as HIV, hepatitis B and C and tuberculosis.

US lesbians win right to attend school event together 7
2:08 PM — A Minnesota lesbian couple have won the right to attend their school's royalty court event together. Desiree Shelton and Sarah Lindstrom, both 18, were elected to onto the royalty court but Champlin Park High School then announced a change in policy, saying that students would walk with a parent or favourite teacher.
Ugandan police say David Kato was killed over sex payment 34
10:47 AM — Ugandan police have claimed that gay rights campaigner David Kato was killed by a man he had arranged to pay for sex. Mr Kato, who was recently outed by a newspaper, was beaten to death with a hammer at his home last week.
