10:06 AM — Armando Montano, an openly gay apprentice journalist working as a summer intern for the Associated Press in Mexico City, was found dead early Saturday. He was 22 years old.

Sao Paulo city council backs ‘heterosexual pride’ 53
2:47 PM — The city council of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has passed a measure calling for an annual Heterosexual Pride Day to be celebrated each December. City alderman Carlos Apolinario, who authored the legislation, said the idea is "not anti-gay but a protest against the privileges the gay community enjoys".
