A Canadian filmaker has made a movie for Gay Pride Week featuring football players getting waterboarded with rainbow-colored underwear covering their noses and mouths, Towleroad reports.
The movie is called “No Safe Words,” a reference to S & M culture, and director Noam Gonick said he intended to make a political point by using the waterboarding imagery.
Canadian gay lesbian news source xtra.ca spoke to Gonick about the film:
The military, says Gonick, “uses homoerotic, aggressive acts to harm victims and act as a contagion to society in general.”
And, he says, it turns us on. “Conquest is not only about territory, or oil, or puppet dictatorships,” he says. “It’s sexual, too.”
Gonick says the film is supposed to draw an analogy to the “conformity” of the gay community.
“It’s about us and who we’ve become,” he says. “We’re willing to do anything to get the approval of the state.”

Trump: Miss Calif. keeps crown
(New York City) Miss California USA can retain her crown even though she failed to reveal she had posed in her underwear as a teenager, pageant owner Donald Trump said Tuesday.
Carrie Prejean appeared by Trump’s side as he made the announcement at New York’s Trump Tower.
Trump also defended the answer …

A second topless photo of Miss California Carrie Prejean has been released by TheDirty.com, days after Prejean promised the state pageant that there was only one such photo in existence.
In related Miss California news, TMZ reports the gay-marriage opponent’s father may be gay. Her parents split in 1988, and the ugly divorce was full of allegations. Read that story here.
Back to the crown drama. On Wednesday Prejean’s runner-up Miss Malibu told “Access Hollywood’s” Billy Bush she is ready to step in should Prejean lose her crown because of a morality clause in the pageant contract contestants sign that promises they have no nude or semi-nude photos in their past.
The second photo is similar to the first, with Prejean’s bare back to the camera, only she’s no longer smiling.
The release of the second photo comes out days after Prejean, in an email to the Miss California pageant obtained by TMZ, promised there was only one such photo in existence. “I shouldnt (sic) have taken the photo of me in my underwear. There are no other photos of me. This was the only one I took.”
TMZ, however, claims it has seen four such photos, as over the weekend they were offered to the site in a sale.
Meanwhile on Wednesday Miss Malibu Tami Farrell told “Access Hollywood” she is ready, willing and able to take over. “I would be honored to represent the state of California if they need me for my responsibilities as first runner-up. I wouldn’t mind stepping into the spotlight.”

Miss California defends nude pics
Miss California Carrie Prejean, who sparked a gay rights outcry following an outburst at the Miss USA pageant, has defended a series of raunchy snaps that have hit the internet.
A photo of Prejean topless and in lacy pink underwear surfaced on websites such as www.perezhilton.com and spread quickly. Five other photos are rumoured to be hitting the internet soon.
Miss California officials are investigating whether the snaps violate her contract as a beauty pageant winner.
Prejean, 21, said the photos were taken when she was a teenager and their release was designed to “mock” her religion.
“I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos,” she said in a statement.
“Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid website that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be.
“But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive.”

OMG: Miss California Topless Shots Hit The Web, Could Cost Her The Crown
Miss California Carrie Prejean topless pictures are making their way to the web, and could cost her the state crown.
In a photo posted on Thedirty.com, seen in part to the left, a tan brunette in pink underwear with her arms across her chest and her back to the camera, is seen smiling over her shoulder at the camera. But with the photo, Prejean may be in violation of her contract.
According to the AP:
Pageant spokesman Roger Neal said Tuesday it appears the 21-year-old Prejean has run afoul of several sections of the 12-page contract that prospective contestants were required to sign before competing in the state contest. The contract contains a clause asking participants whether they have conducted themselves “in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards” and if they’ve ever been photographed nude or partially nude.
Prejean has released a statement about the photo seen below, an implicit confirmation that this photo, and others reportedly being shopped around, are indeed of her. Her hair is brown and the photos are from before her pageant-funded breast implants.

Sacha Baron Cohen: The men in his life
His latest alter ego, a gay Austrian fashionista, is already hailed as a work of genius. But can Sacha Baron Cohen ever just be himself?
Photo: Sacha Baron Cohen as the fashion journalist Brüno
They didn’t know, the Alabama National Guard. Never realised that allowing a German documentary-maker into their high-security training camp 65 miles east of Birmingham would go so wrong. They certainly couldn’t have guessed, when they agreed to let him take part in training, that this curiously effeminate man would adorn his US military uniform with a white D&G belt, or strip in front of a locker room-full of crew-cut squaddies to reveal a camouflage thong.
Ron Paul didn’t twig, either, that a TV interview that was supposed to be about Austrian economics might end in a candle-lit hotel bedroom, where a blond male journalist would proffer cheap champagne before attempting to seduce him. Never, in his wildest dreams, could the 73-year-old hero of the Republican right have envisioned that a predatory homosexual would have the gall to suddenly drop his trousers. That’s why Paul ran away shouting: “This is ENDED!”
Then there was the crowd lured to a fairground in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on the promise of one-dollar beer and “blue-collar brawling”. They expected to spend the evening watching good, old-fashioned fisticuffs. Instead, the cage-fighting took an unexpected turn when a contestant called “Straight Dave” and his opponent stopped wrestling and started, in the words of a police report, “stripping down to their underwear, kissing and rubbing” each other.
How could that crowd have guessed? How could they possibly have realised, in a town where men are men and “gay” is a form of insult, that a pair of tough-guys would start canoodling, and force them to watch? Little wonder they promptly started a riot. Whoever you happen to be, what other emotion, except extreme anger, is the natural reaction to being “punked” by Sacha Baron Cohen?
It’s been a while, now, since this ludicrously talented British comedian burst onto the scene. A decade since his character Ali G first demonstrated that you can make highly intelligent people say incredibly revealing things by asking them the stupidest questions imaginable. Three years since his Kazakhstani alter ego, Borat, toured Middle America exposing staggering levels of misogyny, anti-Semitism, and public ignorance.
But now he’s back. This summer, Baron Cohen will complete his trio of “mockumentary” films with a movie following the flamboyant exploits of Brüno, an outrageously camp fashion reporter from Klagenfurt, whose “MeinSpace” page proudly declares: “If I vas a Starbucks drink, ich vould be a tall, skinny Austrian mit a great personality und a really big brains.”
The film boasts the extended title Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt. That pretty much sums up what the film is about. Firstly, Brüno’s preposterous vanity will expose the excesses of a fashion industry (and celebrity culture) obsessed with body image and consumerism. Secondly, his overbearing homosexuality will be used as a tool to generate, expose, and thus satirise public homophobia.

Iraqi gay men face ‘lives of hell’
Grainy footage taken on a mobile phone and widely distributed around Baghdad shows a terrified young Iraqi boy cowering and whimpering as men with a stick force him to strip, revealing women’s underwear beneath his dishdasha (Arab robe).
“Why are you dressed as a girl?” roars one of the men, brandishing his stick as the youth removes his brassiere.
The sobbing boy, who appears to be about 12, tries to explain that his family made him do it to earn money, as they have no other source of income.
The scene, apparently filmed in a police post, reinforced reports of a campaign against gay men in Iraq which activists say has claimed the lives of more than 60 since December.
In the latest manifestation of the campaign, posters have appeared on walls in the poor Shia suburb of Sadr City in eastern Baghdad, listing alleged homosexuals by name and threatening to kill them.
Those named have gone underground, while gay men throughout the city and in some other parts of the country also live in fear.

Shortland St gay love scene ruled indecent
A complaint about a gay love scene on popular local soap Shortland Street has been upheld by the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
The contentious episode featured asexual receptionist Gerald in a sexual encounter with male friend Lindsay. They were undressing and kissing.
Gerald was wearing his underwear, while Lindsay was topless but wore pants.
The Authority described the scene in a statement issued this morning: “The two characters were shown lying in bed talking, covered up to their bare chests by blankets. Lindsay went under the blankets and Gerald nervously asked him ‘where are you going?’.
“Lindsay popped his head back up and replied ‘it’s a surprise’ before descending back under but came back up when a ticklish Gerald began giggling.
