LGBT Domestic Violence Services Bill Passes State Assembly

Sacramento – The California passed the Domestic Services Bill along party lines, with all 44 present voting in favor while all 17 votes against were cast by . Sponsored by California (), the bill, AB 1003, will increase and expand services to , , or () of domestic .

“By passing this bill, we are expanding innovative and proven program already being pioneered by centers and organizations across the state,” said John A. Pérez (D-Los Angeles), the author of the bill. “Now more will have greater access to the services they need – in a safe, comfortable .”

Tahoe board strips partner benefits

The General board has decided to rescind care benefits to of district employees.

The action, taken on a 3-2 Wednesday, reverses a similar board last August in favor of offering domestic benefits.

Fuller says he voted to rescind the benefits because of the need to cut costs and the potential for abuse.
