An anti-gay group in Washington state has launched a petition drive to place a referendum on the Nov. 3 ballot that would seek to reverse the state’s new domestic-partner law granting marriagelike rights and benefits to same-sex couples. The Washington Values Alliance must obtain more than 120,500 valid signatures from voters by July 25 to gain a spot for Referendum 71 on the ballot, according to this article.
