After dodging the rumors for months, Madonna and Guy Ritchie have released a joint statement announcing they’ll be going their separate ways after eight years of marriage. Madonna’s publicist Liz Rosenberg confirmed the split after months of denying there was trouble in the marriage. The couple have been the subject of tabloid fodder for months, with several bloggers suggesting the two were on the skids. Madonna was even briefly linked to New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, who himself was at the center of a nasty divorce earlier this year.
