Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, through a series of questions and answers in writing, discusses his views of LGBT people and his positions on key issues, including the military gay ban and marriage rights. McCain, citing former out U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe, R-Ariz., said he believes “someone’s sexuality should not be relevant in public life,” and he said he would choose a Supreme Court justice or Cabinet member or name other appointees “regardless of their political party, race, gender, religion or sexual orientation.” Washington Blade
