More Controversy at Manchester Gay Pride as Business Group Speaks Out Against Commercialization

The row over the ‘commercialization’ of Manchester Gay Pride deepened this weekend when the chair of the Village Business Association (VBA) hit out at the ‘establishment’, saying that Gay Pride in the city had lost its direction. Phil Burke, who heads the VBA, said that the ‘general feeling amongst the businesses, and a vast number of attendees, is that we no longer have a Manchester Pride that is an annual celebration of the LGBT community and The Gay Village.’
