Ten years ago in October, Laramie made headlines with the brutal murder of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard … attacked because of his sexual orientation.
Saturday, the University of Wyoming and the Shepard family dedicated a bench in Matthew’s honor.
The bench which sits near the A & S Auditorium near Prexy’s Pasture is to be a constant reminder that every life is to be valued and honored.
University President Tom Buchanan was on hand to commemorate the anniversary.
