Log Cabin Republicans Throw Support Behind John McCain

Log Cabin Republicans, the leading organization of gay and lesbian Republicans, announced its endorsement of Sen. John McCain for President of the United States at its ‘Big Tent Event’ during the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis on Tuesday. Citing McCain’s refusal to vote with both his party and President Bush for the federal marriage amendment, which would have constitutionally defined marriage as being exclusively between a man and a woman, Log Cabin’s national board of directors voted 12-2 to endorse the Republican nominees for President and Vice President.
