One Nation Under a Groove… Cool concept, huh? I wish I’d thought of it first. But any fan of classic R and B will easily recognize it as the musical manifesto of George Clinton, one of the true Masters of Funk. George broke it down with bass-pumpin’ back-beats. Martin Luther King, Jr. immortalized it in his legendary ‘I Have a Dream’ address 45 years ago. And Barack Obama spoke of it as a ‘stirring in our nation’ last week during the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
