Brokeback Mountain Author Irritated by ‘Pornish Rewrites’

Annie Proulx the author of the Pulitzer-Prize winning novel The Shipping News as well as the gay favorite short story Brokeback Mountain, upon which the Ang Lee-directed Academy Award-winning film of the same name is based, recently debuted a new story collection called Fine Just the Way It Is. Don’t expect Proulx’s latest to be any kind of sequel to Brokeback Mountain, a slice of her body of work she now describes as ‘the source of constant irritation in my private life.’
