Bill Clinton Defends McCain’s Call to Postpone Debate, Angers Democrats

In an interview on Good Morning America, former president Bill Clinton offered a defense of John McCain’s request to delay the first presidential debate so that he can remain in Washington and focus on negotiating a bi-partisan economic bailout package for Wall Street. It is the latest in a series of remarks made by Mr. Clinton in recent days that have raised the ire of Democrats who don’t feel the former president is showing enough support for Barack Obama and may inadvertently be helping the McCain campaign by not attacking it more harshly.
