For a gamer, it’s always gratifying when the progenitors of one of your favorite games take the time to reach out and get personal. Such was the case last week after I delved into my experiences as a lesbian player in the virtual world of EVE Online. The column launched not only a fervent discussion in EVE’s discussion forum among fellow players, but also prompted the creators of EVE to get in touch to share their efforts to make the game a friendly and accepting place for players of all backgrounds.
