Democrats forge “historic” platform backing LGBT rights
Although the final draft of the Democratic National Committee platform doesn’t include the words “gay,” “lesbian,” “bisexual” or “transgender,” it is being described as “historic” in its support of LGBT rights by out U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., who is a member of the platform-drafting committee.
