Conservative Columnist Robert Novak Retires After Brain Tumor Diagnosis

Conservative columnist and Crossfire co-host Robert Novak, the man who was widely held responsible for ‘outing’ Valerie Plame as a CIA operative five years ago, is retiring from journalism following a brain tumor diagnosis, he announced in a statement on Monday. Just last week, Novak, driving his Corvette, hit a homeless man at a downtown Washington intersection. Novak said he didn’t realize he’d struck the man until a passing cyclist stopped him.
