Living a virtual lesbian life in the world of online gaming can be an unpleasant experience at times. While hanging out on The L Word island in Second Life is about as close to heaven as a social lesbian gamer can get at times, outside of such havens, discrimination in the gaming world is still rampant. Even in such nominally gay-friendly worlds as Eve Online, for example, anti-gay language spewing through the chat windows is a daily occurrence.
