Former Google Employee Anna Patterson Launches Competing ‘Cool’ Search

A former Google employee has launched a new search engine to compete against the massive Internet presence of her former employer. Anna Patterson and her husband, Tom Costello, developed the Cuil search engine (pronounced ‘cool’) with the intention of indexing more websites than Google and providing more accurate results for search users. A preliminary search for gay resources on Cuil.com yields pleasingly accurate information, but extremely limited functionality.
