‘It’s an extraordinary day,’ San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom said Thursday after the California Supreme Court ruled 4-3 to overturn the state’s ban on same-sex marriage. However, LGBT rights advocates caution that the battle for gay marriage equality in California, and the nation, is only just beginning.
