Iman has paid tribute to David Bowie on the second anniversary of his death by sharing a heartwarming picture of her and her late husband.

Queer icon and musical superstar David Bowie died of liver cancer on 10 January 2016 after an eighteen-month battle with the illness.

Sharing a black and white portrait of her and the singer, former supermodel Iman wrote: “My favorite love story is ours! #BowieForever#ForeverAndEver.”

Although it may have been two years since Bowie has passed, the excitement around his legendary status appears to be more tangible than ever.

RuPaul also paid tribute to the queer icon, revealing to fans on Twitter how he and Bowie first met.

In a post including the picture of them in New York, the drag star said that he had to leave to “scream and cry” after he met Bowie.

Queer icon David Bowie was known for pushing the boundaries on conforming genders and sexualities.

After announcing that he “was gay and always had been” to Melody Maker in 1972, he was a leading icon for paving the way for queer discourse to be recognised.

The androgynous icon then went on to announce he was bisexual in Playboy magazine.

Since Bowie’s death, UK fans have bought more than 5 million of his albums, with album Blackstar released two days before his death becoming one of the top ten biggest selling albums in 2916.
