Victoria Beckham shatters hopes of a Spice Girls reunion

Hopes of a Spice Girls reunion have been shattered once for all.

A report in the Sun newspaper had said the group would be getting back together as a five piece.

It claim that Mel C had even been able to convince Victoria Beckham – Posh Spice herself – to get on board.

But now Victoria has spoken out about the chances herself.

Speaking with This Morning’s Alison Hammond alongside her close friend Eva Longoria, Posh Spice put to bed the hopes.

“It is not happening. At some point you’ve gotta know when it’s time to say, ‘that was great’,” she said.

“Girl Power will always be out there and is something that we all still believe in.”

The attitude of the Spice Girls lives on, though, the fashion designer argued.

“What I do now is still all about girl power, but it’s empowering women through fashion.

“But, I don’t think I’ll be slipping into a PVC catsuit anytime soon.”

Just two months ago Victoria said the Spice Girls looked like “five men in drag” at the height of their fame.

The iconic singers’ old bonds were strengthened by Mel B’s difficult divorce proceedings, according to The Sun.

Geri – Ginger Spice herself – was also reported to have helped indirectly, with the birth of her son Monty providing a uniting source of joy.

Earlier this year, Geri even finally apologised for leaving the Spice Girls.

The Spice Girls were midway through their world tour when the news broke, throwing everyone into a state of confusion.

In response to a fan account which pointed out it was the anniversary of this heartbreaking event, Geri tweeted: “I’m sorry about that … , everything works out in the end , that’s what my mum says! X”

In June, Geri performed her first single for 12 years, dedicating it to her late friend George Michael.

Mel C also paid tribute to the star in an exclusive interview with PinkNews in August.
