Straight men are having threesomes with their male friends to cement their bromances, study claims
A new study has claimed that straight men are having threesomes in part to bond with their male friends.
Dr Ryan Scoats of Birmingham City University interviewed 30 male students for the study.
He found that ten had had a threesome by their second year, with six of these having had more than one threesome.
Seven of those who had a threesome had been in at least one threesome with two women.
Five of those quizzed had been in a threesome with a woman and another man.

“Younger guys engaging in threesomes are shifting along with society toward being less homophobic,” Dr Scoats told MailOnline.
“This is allowing them to have threesomes with other men without it challenging their sexuality.
“The trend ties into bromances, and shows that modern men are more comfortable with their male friends.”
The men described the experiences as “quite fun” and spoke of giving a “high five” during the threesome.
The issue of whether the two straight men physically interact with one another during a threesome was important, especially to the woman involved.
In another study, one female interviewee suggested that it was necessary for her to enjoy the threesome.
Isa, 26, told Dr Scoats: “If there is no homo, there is no trio. I find it really annoying if they are reluctant to touch each other.”
Dr Scoats added: “Women are generally more reluctant to engage in MMF threesomes than men, maybe because they find it intimidating or objectifying.
“But when it’s suggested the males will be interacting sexually, for some women, this can be anxiety-reducing because they appear less like an object.”
