Take That are one of Manchester’s most famous musical exports.

Their first burst of fame in the 1990s came after a run of performances at gay clubs around the country, so it’s only right and proper that they’ve been announced for a shock appearance at this year’s Manchester Pride.

The surprise appearance was revealed by the Manchester Evening News.

And the official Twitter account for Manchester Pride confirmed the reports.

“THE CAT’S OUT OF THE BAG. The rumours are true,” it said.

“@takethat will be making a very special appearance this weekend!! ”

That means Take That’s current three-piece incarnation of Howard Donald, Gary Barlow and Mark Owen will be in attendance.

The trio will introduce the stars of new Take That musical The Band.
