Liev Schreiber took his son to Comic-Con in adorable Harley Quinn outfit

Ray Donovan star Liev Schreiber is definitely our proud dad of the week, after taking his son to Comic-Con as Harley Quinn.

The actor, who has appeared in Spotlight and the X-Men series, shared a photo on Instagram with his sons, Alexander and Samuel Kai.

Liev and Alexander were photographed wearing a mish-mash of different costumes, but Samuel stole the show, dressed as Batman character Harley Quinn.

The young superhero fan, age 8, sported the character’s outfit and blue-and-red pigtails from the film Suicide Squad, with some pretty precise make-up completing the look.

Sharing a family photo on Instagram, Schreiber wrote: “Look out ComicCon!”

The costume has earned praise online.

One fan wrote: “Thank you for raising your sons in the public eye in such an open minded way.

“Allowing Kai to have a costume of a different gender will inspire so many kids out there and not to mention letting their parents know it’s ok and the world won’t explode.”

Another added: “BEST DAD! Love how you let your kids dress how they want at the con! Great job man. I let my kids dress however they want, be it a female or male persona. Way to go.”

One comment read: “My heart is happy with this photo! Best Dad award goes to Liev. No one, should ever try to make your child conform to what others think is right.

“You do whats right for you and your family. Parenting at its best! Our jobs as parents on this earth is to feed the souls of our children, not to tell them that they cant be a character, because the public thinks it isn’t appropriate.”

The kids are likely to have a pretty inclusive upbringing all-round, as their mother is actress Naomi Watts.

Watts is a goodwill ambassador for Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, while she starred opposite Elle Fanning in trans-themed drama 3 Generations.

Another dad recently stuck up for his 9-year-old son – after he received hate for dressing as Disney villain Cruella De Vil.

9-year-old Liam, who has a passion for costuming and dressing up, chose to dress up as the 101 Dalmatians villain this year.

When his dad saw the shocking messages he was getting online, he hit back.
