The ongoing feud between Piers Morgan and JK Rowling has just stepped up a gear.

Former newspaper editor and current Good Morning Britain couch-dweller Piers has had it in for the Harry Potter author for a while now.

Given the opportunity to kick out at his celebrity enemies in a new interview in The Sun, he didn’t hold back at all.

“Never read [Harry Potter], never watched a movie, think she’s utterly ghastly,” he said.

“A smug, supercilious, superior kind of person who thinks the only view that matters is hers because she wrote about some Hogwarts and wizards — do me a favour.”

Ooof.

He continued: “She’s not even a good writer. Good writers will tell you Harry Potter is terrible in terms of literary quality.

“But she’s made billions of pounds out of conning the world that she’s a great writer.

“And as a result we’re apparently all expected to genuflect at the altar of JK Rowling. No thanks.”

Tell us what you really feel, Piers.

This is the second time Piers Morgan has hit out at JK Rowling in a matter of weeks.

His last barbs at the author came on the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (‘the Sorcerer’s Stone’ in the US).

“20 years of conning the easily mesmerised masses with execrable literary hogwartwash. Congrats,” he said on Twitter, adding a vomitface emoji and thumbs down for good measure.

Piers isn’t letting this one go, but it was actually JK who started this whole feud.

After Piers Morgan was told to “f**k off” on live TV for his opinion on Donald Trump’s “Muslim ban”, JK took to Twitter to celebrate.

Morgan didn’t take too kindly to her jubilation, kicking off a feud that shows no signs of slowing down.
