Donald Trump retweets random woman called Ivanka assuming it’s his daughter

A random woman named Ivanka has found herself at the centre of a Trump Twitter storm.

It all happened after the president-elect, who takes office this Friday, spotted a Tweet seemingly praising his daughter, Ivanka Trump.

However Trump didn’t take time to check the handle used.

It was in fact posted to Ivanka Majic, a local council worker in the coastal British city of Brighton.

“Ivanka Majic from Brighton, England, is a wonderful woman. You’re right,” replied Mark Pygas, a writer for Distractify, to Trump.

“RIP her mentions though.

“I mean, she’s probably trying to sleep and her phone is going off the hook but it’s a hell of a story.”

@Ivanka has now had more than 8,000 replies, and over 25,000 favourites on the Tweet.

Only days ago she posted that she’d found “fame at last” after making it into her local paper.

Now she’s being sent messages from around the globe.

Ivanka has used her new found Twitter fame to highlight the issue of climate change.

More than 1,000 users have favourited her response.

She wrote: “And you’re a man with great responsibilities. May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about #climatechange.”

At the time of writing, Trump had left the post up and not acknowledged his mistake.
