Trump supporter attacks Beyonce… to defend his comments about groping women

In attacking Hillary Clinton, a Trump supporter attacked Beyonce… to justify comments in which he said he groped women.

Trump has been heavily criticised for a video which has resurfaced from 2005, which sees him brag about “grabbing women by the pussy” in unaired Access Hollywood footage while he was appearing on reality show Days of Our Lives.

Despite wide criticism for the video and many saying it renders Trump unfit for the Presidency, many Trump supporters and Trump campaign officials have tried to pass it off as “locker room banter”.

These included former New York Lieutenant Governor Betsy McCaughey, who took aim at the international superstar, trying to defend the comments made by the Republican Presidential nominee.

Rather than just admit that his comments were wrong (and disgusting), McCaughey played on Clinton’s penchant for a Beyonce hit.

Attacking “lewd” lyrics on CNN Tonight, McCaughey read out some of the words to the Beyonce hit ‘Formation’.

“I abhor lewd and bawdy language,” she says. “I don’t listen to rap music. I don’t like that kind of thing, but Hillary Clinton, when she expresses … ”

“I mentioned rap music because it’s full of the f-word, the p-word, the b-word, the a-word,” she adds.

Then she goes on to recite the lyrics, saying: “‘I came to slay, bitch. When he f-ed me good I take his ass to Red Lobster.’ That happens to be from Beyoncé, her favourite performer. Whom she says she idolises and would like to imitate. There’s a lot of hypocrisy, in Hillary Clinton expressing such horror at language on the bus.”

Despite Don Lemon interjecting and laughing at McCaughey’s words, she stood by them.

Later in the segment, Lemon said: “As much as I like hearing you say that, Hillary Clinton did not say those words…Donald Trump actually said the words, and as my mom would say, that’s the horse of another colour.”

Trump has lost support from within the Republican party over the comments.

Trump was also attacked by host Anderson Cooper at the 2nd Presidential debate.

“You called what you said locker room banter,” Cooper said.

“You described kissing women without consent, grabbing their genitals. That is sexual assault. You bragged that you have sexually assaulted women. Do you understand that?”
