TV network Logo was apparently “blindsided” by revelations that the star of their new dating show once worked as a male escort.

Gay cable channel LogoTV, home of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has commissioned upcoming reality show Finding Prince Charming.

According to a statement from Logo, the show features 13 handsome suitors living together in a house and competing for the heart of a gorgeous Prince.

But it turns out the Prince, Robert Sepúlveda Jr, allegedly has a secret past as a sex worker with a profile on Rentboy.com.

After reports on gay blogs, Mr Sepulveda admitted to the Huffington Post: “The past is the past. I was young and it helped through college.

“But what I want people to focus on is who I am today as an entrepreneur, as an activist. I started a non-profit and, you know, focusing on the show. That’s really what I want people to focus on.”

He told US Weekly: “It’s part of my past and these guys were open with me about their past, some talk about HIV, about whatever that’s happened in their past.

“They were honest and open with me about their past, so I felt like I couldn’t stand before them and not be open about my past.”

But a source close to production told The Wrap that “the network didn’t find out until well into production”.

They added that the network followed “standard protocol” in vetting but “nothing came up during the background check”.
