Sweden’s Migration Agency has been advised to get rid of experts who advise on LGBT issues.

The Local reports that the agency has been the subject of an internal report, which advises that specialists on LGBT issues be disbanded.

The recommendation by the report comes as it says the agency has lost specific expertise at its asylum centres.

On the back of that, it suggests that new, more general roles are created for some of the more longer-standing staff members.

But this would include getting rid of the LGBT experts, and other specialist fields.

The Swedish Federation for LGBTQ rights (RFSL) has criticised the reports.

Magnus Kolsjö, vice-chairman at RFSL said: “All staff at the Migration Agency need basic training when it comes to LGBT-related issues. The experts specialised in LGBT must be educated more and their roles must be developed, not abolished.”
