‘Ex-gay’ gospel singer, who claimed ‘God’s power’ helped him change his lifestyle, now dating a woman

An ‘ex-gay’ American gospel singer who claimed God’s power helped him to “change his lifestyle”, is now dating a woman.

Donnie McClurkin, who said the only reason he had same-sex attractions was because his uncle molested him as a boy, is now said to be in a ‘serious’ relationship with singer, Nicole C. Mullen.

The singer, who is also a minister, said that the only thing missing from his life was a “wife that would make man whole, that element that brings favour to man”. This comes after he claims he was successfully ‘cured’ from the “curse” of homosexuality.

Blaming his uncle for his past ‘homosexual transgressions’, he added : “I was not born with these sexual tendencies. It wasn’t chromosomal and had nothing to do with my DNA.

“These tendencies surfaced because a broken man thrust an 8-year-old boy into this whirlwind. Thus, my first sexual relationship was with a man.

“Before I could ever know the purpose or pleasure of a woman, have my first date or even my first kiss, the wound was inflicted, and the seed was planted.”

The Grammy winner believes that because he prayed and took the advice of women at his church, God used his power to ‘cure’ him.

He now believes that he is a voice for those in a similar position who want to be “freed” from their homosexuality.

“For them, I write this without apology, knowing that I’ve been through this and have experienced God’s power to change my lifestyle,” he said.

“I believed that I was meant to be a whole man, made for one woman, and God brought it all about. I am delivered, and I know God can deliver others too.”
