The teen pop sensation is apparently refusing to sign up to Uber Girl unless a sex scene between himself and a male dancer is removed.

Justin Bieber has been criticised by some of his LGBT fans for allegedly refusing a film role due to the character’s sexuality.

Writer Pete O’Neill claims that the Sorry singer will only consider taking the role if the scene between his character and a male back-up dancer is removed from the script.

“He won’t take the part unless the sex scene with him and one of the male backup dancers is taken out of the final script,” O’Neill told the New York Post’s Page Six.

Uber Girl – in which Bieber is shortlisted to play the part of a young pop star – already has the backing of independent production company Cinema Epoch.

The company now hopes to convince a major studio to co-produce the movie, with Bieber’s involvement seen as integral to securing big-named backers.

However, when quizzed on the issue, the pop star’s representatives said there was “no truth” to O’Neill’s claims, saying the supposed discussion “never happened”.

O’Neill revealed that he’d also love to see Bieber’s fellow teen sensations Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka cast in the “millennial coming-of-age story”.

Last month, Bieber – who was last seen on the big screen in Zoolander 2 – was criticised for appropriating a hashtag started in solidarity with the victims of the Orlando Pulse shooting, in order to promote his tour.

He also recently found himself engaged in a Twitter battle with gay icon Bette Midler, after she blasted the teen’s father.

The spat started after nude photos were leaked of Bieber on a beach in Bora Bora.

Last year, Bieber also took to social media to insist that he is “not gay”, after kissing a man on the cheek.

The 21-year-old singer posted a clip of himself planting a kiss on the cheek of bodyguard Mikey Arana – writing:”I’m not gay but even if I was that’s not an insult”.
