Ellen Page makes impassioned plea for LGBT community to ‘live freely, love freely and not be afraid’

Out actor Ellen Page has made an impassioned plea for society to let the LGBT community “live freely, love freely and not be afraid”.

The Juno star appeared on Chelsea Handler’s new Netflix talk show, and was clearly distressed by the mass shooting which took place in Orlando gay club Pulse in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Perpetrated by American citizen Omar Mateen, who used assault rifles legally purchased using gun licences, the shooting left 49 dead and at least 53 more injured.

In the segment on Handler’s show, the host and other guests call for gun reform, and for assault weapons to not be so readily available.
