JK Rowling did something PERFECT for a fan who attempted suicide

When a fan with depression got in touch with JK Rowling asking something special of her, she didn’t fail to deliver.

The fan, Kate, tweeted an image of her story to the famed Harry Potter author, saying she has depression and self harms.

Saying she had attempted suicide eight times, and regularly self-harmed, Kate said she wanted to move on with her life, and to heal.

She wrote: “I wanna get “Expecto Patronum” tattooed on the wrist I usually cut the most,” saying she wanted to “slowly start to recover”.

Rowling responded beautifully, writing: “I love that you’re working to heal and protect yourself. You deserve this. I hope it helps.”

The author tweeted an image of her writing saying “Expecto Patronum”, which in Latin means “I have a guardian angel”, in latin.

The spell in the Harry Potter series helps the wizards to ward of the soul-sucking Dementors.

JK Rowling this month issued Harry Potter fans with a warning about the upcoming ‘Cursed Child’ play: Be prepared to cry.

The mother of a girl who died of cancer in March wrote an incredibly moving letter to Rowling about how Harry Potter helped them both as an escape during her treatment.

Rowling earlier this year unveiled some of her rejection letters to help inspire fans not to give up on their dreams – and it was super inspiring.

The author was also named this year as one of the most philanthropic celebrities, alongside Elton John.
