Caitlyn Jenner confronts critics: ‘I’ve been through more than anyone can imagine’
Caitlyn Jenner has met with some of her critics, and said she has had a harder like than anyone “can imagine”.
Jenner was interviewed with some high school students at an LGBT alliance at a Brooklyn high school.
Students int he alliance had criticised Jenner for not doing enough for trans people.
But the star opened up about her privilege, and how difficult she sees she has had it in life.
She says: “I was a privileged white male. So I got very criticised in the tans-community with people asking ‘what do I know’”
Answering, Jenner says she “knows a lot”.
“I will never ever make excuses for working hard on my life and being successful and raising a wonderful family.
“Trans-people can transition in private – I have not had that luxury because of who I am and that privilege I have been exposed to more than you can ever even imagine. Being destroyed in the tabloids, to paparazzi’s following me everywhere, and writing lies about me,” she said.
Jenner is to pose nude on a magazine cover covered only with an American flag.
