After Mississippi passed arguably what is the most disgusting anti-LGBT laws in the US, Funny or Die has taken aim at the state.

In Mississippi, the most extreme anti-LGBT ‘religious freedom’ bill passed the state legislature last week.

The Governor of Mississippi earlier this week signed House Bill 1523 – ignoring pleas from business leaders in the state.

The “religious freedom” bill allows discrimination across housing, employment and bathroom access.

Now Funny or Die has not pulled any punches with this parody tourist board ad for the state.

It begins: “We’re Mississippi. We’re proud of our Southern values, magnolia trees, and hot days.”

But continuing, the narrator says: “Now, thanks to Gov. Bryant, we have an oppressive law to match our oppressive heat!”

Going on, it says: “Visit one of our soul food restaurants and swallow your sense of humanity… paddle your way through semantics that justify discrimination… soak up the fun in our national chain restaurants and stores before they pack up and leave.”

The ad ends with a comparison between North Carolina, which last month passed a similar measure, and Mississippi.
