Photos of a beautiful wedding at which British and Indian traditions were brought together show love does not discriminate.

The photos, shared by the Gay Rights in India Facebook Page, showed Simon McNorton and Justin Johnson’s special day.

The photos, as well as showing the special celebration bringing together two families, and two countries’ traditions, show that love overcomes social, cultural and racial stereotypes and pressures.

The couple tied the knot in spring, at a wedding in the UK.

While McNorton wore a traditional Indian Sherwani, Johnson wore his Marine Blues.

The page said: “Simon’s Indian connection comes from his mother, who is an Indian married to a British. Incorporating their family and friends into the celebration was the biggest priority for them.”

McNorton is an active member of the Indicorps NGO, which works for gay rights around the world.

According to the Facebook page: “Justin and Simon are settled in the UK, and couldn’t be more pleased with the way the day turned out.”
