Notorious anti-LGBT religious leader, Franklin Graham, has said he won’t buy Girl Scout this year because of the organisation’s support of abortion rights, trans issues and homosexuality.

Responding to comments made by Archbishop Robert Carlson on Facebook, Rev Graham said he was “exactly right” and that the ‘ways of the world’ were “incompatible with biblical values”.

He said: “The Girl Scouts’ organisation isn’t what it used to be!

“He [the Archbishop] told church members and scout leaders that the Girl Scouts is wrong in their support of transgender rights and homosexuality and is not aligned with the teachings of his church.”

His post went on to condemn a group that was set up in Utah to support trans people and the fact that the organisation celebrated the Supreme Court marriage equality ruling.

Since making the post, thousands have commented in support.

One user, Anita Puckett Case, said: “I agree. We should not support organisations that are not following the teachings of Christ.

“That is how the world seeps from the church and our lives.”

Others expressed solidarity, saying things like: “disgusted with this organisation” and how “Christians must stand firm”.

However, some saw through the pastor’s attack on the community.

Marc Wilkins, said: “So now he’s done with bullying Muslims, gays and atheists, Franklin has now decided to bully little girls – yep, real “Christian” values.”

Durrell Watkins, added: “We allow the Girl Scouts to sell their cookies on our church campus and we encourage the congregants to support them.

“Homophobia and transphobia are not Christian values!”
