Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis says he can’t escape the photoshoot he did for a gay magazine.

Matthew Lewis, who played unlikely hero Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, made headlines in May last year when he stripped off for Attitude Magazine.

Many remarked on the actor’s transformation from first starring in the films aged 11, when he was given prosthetics to make him less attractive.

Over a decade on from the first film, he appeared All Grown Up in all his unaltered glory in the mag shoot – which blew up online with Potter fans.

However, Lewis says he’s now tired of constantly seeing the pictures circulating.

He told the Standard of the shoot: “I was like ‘Why the hell do you want me?’ Naturally you think of cover models to be David Beckham or someone insanely handsome, not me.

“But I’ve worked with the photographer, Joseph Sinclair, before and he is incredibly talented.

“He suggested some more risqué shots because I was in the best shape of my life and I trust him.

“Of course I was self-conscious. Even if one day I end up looking like f***ing Chris Hemsworth I’m never going to not be self-conscious.”

He added: “I’ve seen enough of me in pants to last a lifetime!”
