Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis has taken to Grindr in order to sell her album.

In a brilliant demonstration that she knows her target market, the singer is using the gay hook-up app to flog her latest album I Am.

The album was released on 11 September last week – but if you want to get it for a discount, US users can get it via the app for $3.99.

The company tweeted: “Leona Lewis returns with the new album I Am. Get it for the #GRINDR special price, NOW!”.

She’s not the first artist to take to Grindr to flog her work – with Madonna joining the app to chat to a few lucky fans.

Madonna signed on the app to chat with five winners – but despite the platform, it wasn’t disclosed exactly how steamy her messages were.

A Grindr spokesman said at the time: “Who can forget their very first time? The queen of pop really wants to touch you for the very first time on Grindr.

“This Valentine’s Day, Grindr is offering their users a chance to speak with Madonna as part of a contest conceived by the material girl herself.

“That’s right, Madonna is teaming up with Grindr to chat with five lucky users this month via in-app messaging.”
