Homophobic clerk’s deputy said he won’t obey if she says to discriminate against gays

One of the Kim Davis’ deputies has said he won’t obey her orders, once she returns to work, if she tells him not to issue marriage licences to gay couples.

Adamantly bigoted clerk Kim Davis, who went to jail rather than obey court orders instructing her to marry gays, was released yesterday.

Davis, the clerk for Rowan County, Kentucky, made international news when she defied a string of court orders by refusing to grant marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples, despite issuing marriage licenses being a large part of her job.

She previously rejected deals to get her out of jail which would have simply meant her not interfering with her deputies when they issue marriage licences to gay couples. She was released on the same condition.

Brian Mason, one of the deputies, who have been ordered to issue marriage licences in Davis’ absence, said he would ignore her if she told him not to issue licences to gay couples.

He told reporters anyone seeking a marriage licence will be issued one.

Davis last Thursday went to jail in contempt of court. She refused to accept deals which would have set her free days ago, if she allowed her deputies to issue the marriage licences to gay couples.

In case you missed it, the Twitter account ‘@nexttoKimDavis’ has been live tweeting observations throughout the stubbornly homophobic clerk’s ordeal.

The wildly poplar Facebook page ‘God’, yesterday took aim at Davis, and said she had repented her homophobic ways.
