Rap star Travis Scott has apologised after calling fans “faggots” and “a bunch of queers” during a concert earlier this year.

The rapper was the subject of controversy after he used the language to refer to a group of people at a gig in Houston, Texas in March.

Footage of the incident, at the House of Blues, emerged, and caused a social media backlash.

Scott tweeted a number of messages after the video began circulating.

He put down the slurs to being overly “excited”.
