Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose has sparked an online backlash – after posing for a photo with controversial boxer Floyd Mayweather.

The genderfluid actress uploaded a photo to Instagram this week with the star, writing: “the champ!”

However, fans have slammed the actress for posing with Mayweather – citing his convictions for domestic violence and misdemeanour battery.

He was also caught on tape in 2010 referring to Manny Pacquiao as a “faggot” several times – but later apologised for the comments.

Ruby Rose’s fanbase seemed less than impressed with the star for posing with the boxer.

One fan wrote: “For real hates gays hits women….. ugh… @rubyrose you are so gorgeous and I hope smart. Don’t be part ov the closed eyes all around us.

Another added: “The champ of what? Beating women?”

A third fan said: “I’m disgusted you’d express love for Mayweather and fan girl for a man who brutalizes women! I removed u from my girl crush list.”

The actress debuted on the third season of the Netflix prison drama as Stella, a tattooed Australian who drove a wedge between prison couple Piper and Alex.

However, the genderfluid star attracted a lot of attention online – with both gay men and straight women alike joking that the star was making them question their sexuality.
