Apple’s personal voice assistant Siri is refusing to use Caitlyn Jenner’s former name.

The former Olympic athlete and reality TV star announced her transition to female earlier this year.

She announced on the cover of Vanity Fair that she would change her name to Caitlyn – and Siri is so trans-friendly, it now refuses to use her old name at all.

Asking Siri about her former name generates the response: “Caitlyn Jenner’s full name is Caitlyn Jenner.”

Similarly, using her former name asking how tall she is or how many children she has will lead to the voice assistant correcting you.

It seems like Siri has changed its mind about LGBT people recently – with the previous Russian version of Siri refusing to discuss sexuality at all.

When asked “Siri, tell me about gay marriage”, the voice assistant replies: “Alex, you are so rude!”

Discussion of gay clubs doesn’t go much better, with Siri saying “I would have turned red, if I could” when asked for directions to the nearest gay bar.
When asked “How to register a gay marriage in the England?”, it aptly says: “I will pretend I didn’t hear that”

Apple declined to give a statement when approached by PinkNews – but a spokesman said it was a “bug” that has since been fixed.
