Congrats! Stephen Fry gets an asteroid named after him
Activist and broadcaster Stephen Fry has expressed excitement after having an asteroid named after him.
The 57-year-old tweeted yesterday to give thanks to Ron Baalke, of the Nasa Jet Propulsion Lab.
5190 Fry, which was discovered in 1990, was recently named after the actor. It lies in an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
Baalke also has an asteroid named after him – number 6524.
Two years ago, Fry tweeted about an asteroid being named after German composer Wagner, saying: “Wagner is truly out of this world. he has an asteroid named after him.”
