Inspired by Caitlyn Jenner, trans people are making their own magazine covers.

The step-parent to the Kardashians, Caitlyn Jenner revealed her new name as she appeared on the latest cover of Vanity Fair.

On Tumblr, Crystal Frasier echoed the words by actress Laverne Cox’s on trans people’s appearance, and feeling forced to adhere to cisnormative beauty standards.

She said: “Not all of us adhere to those standards. Not all of us want to. Not all of us can. Some of us do, but only out of fear.

“Some of us do but we aren’t sure why. And whether we fit those standards or not, we’re beautiful, and we all deserve to feel beautiful, and be acknowledged by the world.

“Admiration and praise for trans women shouldn’t only come if we fit a narrow definition of beauty. As a good friend of mine said Monday “Where’s my Vanity Fair cover?”

She told BuzzFeed News: ““Originally, we were just hoping other trans women would take it as a sign of solidarity and a reminder that we all have value, but we’re happy that it speaks to trans men and non-binary folks too.

Other trans people (including PinkNews staff members) have been getting in on the act.
