Caitlyn Jenner could be set to make a guest appearance in Amazon’s hit series Transparent.

The comedy series, which aired its first season last year to rave reviews, features Jeffrey Tambor as transgender woman Moira, who comes out to her children later in life.

Caitlyn Jenner – the former Olympian and Keeping Up With the Kardashians star – herself came out as transgender at the age of 65 this year, and showed off her new look in a Vanity Fair cover shoot this week.

Transparent creator Jill Soloway, who has real-life experience of her own parent coming out as trans, said the show’s second run will definitely include Jenner in some way, given the clear parallels.

She said: “I spoke to Caitlyn, and she told me that she saw the show; and I talked to Kim Kardashian, and she told me they all watched it together.”

She told Variety: “I don’t know if she’d want to act, but we definitely want to incorporate the fact that she came out into this season.

“Just to have that base conversation somewhere in a scene, for sure.”

She added: “I feel like the change in the transgender community has happened because of the lived lives of trans people. There is a sea change happening right now, a revolution and we’re definitely in there a part of it.

“Sometimes I just trip on the fact that she’s the patriarch of the most famous family on the planet. There’s an international resonance with people recognizing that trans people are people too.

“The whole family transitions because everybody’s changing. If one person becomes more authentic, everyone comes to be more authentic.

“If you’re not being yourself, you can’t have an honest communication with someone who is being themselves. So everyone really grows from it. It calls everyone into their higher self.”

Transparent is set to return later this year.
