Hillary Clinton has released a new short campaign video, in which she chats with a gay man who adopted a child who went on to pass all expectations.

On what she calls a “listening tour”, Clinton is touring the state of Iowa, and releasing short campaign videos in which she talks to voters about key issues.

Mike Yowell, who adopted a little girl with his partner in the 1980s, talks about how she was from an underpriveleged background, and that he was told she would never graduate from high school.

“I was thrilled when you recently urged the Supreme Court to rule in favor of marriage equality,” he says. “I was like, ‘That’s our gal!’”

Yowell goes on to say his daughter has a degree and is a teacher.

In a video launching her Presidential campaign last week, the Democratic hopeful featured a range of Americans discussing their plans for the future, including Jared Milrad and his partner who spoke about their plans to marry.

After the high-profile launch, Mr Milrad decided to tweet his thanks to Clinton for their inclusion in the video – and showed his appreciation by inviting her along to their big day.
