Expedia ad featuring gay couple met with sickening Twitter hatred
A new ad for online travel company Expedia which features a gay couple has been met with a storm of hatred on Twitter.
The ad, which features a competition to win a “romantic getaway to Great Britain”, features two men loosely embracing near London’s Tower Bridge.
The campaign which the tweet was promoting, features a number of couples, male and female, straight and gay, in different locations around London.
Replying to the image, one user said it was “repulsive”, and in another tweet wrote “puking violently”.
Another user wrote “I hate faggots”, and a third responded to those commending Expedia for the campaign calling them “nasty fudge packer.”

While there were an unfortunate minority who attacked the campaign, there was a number of people who defended, and commended the company for both featuring same-sex couples, and showing Great Britain in a positive light.
